Description
Let’s compile another list, this time of Lutheran Mommy blogs, education podcasts, etc. (Do we still call the Mommy Blogs? Parent blogs, then!) I’m probably out of the loop, but I’m still open to Lutheran advise & community just about however I can get it. 🙂
(I figure you’re mostly interested in this for the links, so I may not bother attaching a downloadable PDF. Let me know if you want one and I’ll add it.)
Lutheran
Here’s what I’ve found so far:
Blogs
- AmandaMarkel.com. You’ll love her tagline: “Shattering homeschooling stereotypes one pair of high heels at a time.”
- Blest the House: A Lutheran Homeschooling Blog with various ELS authors
- Donuts & Devos is a blog & podcast with resources for parenting kids in the faith.
- JoyfullyThriving.com is by a Lutheran teacher turned SAHM. She blogs about frugal living.
- MerelyMommy.com deals with stuff as varied as tough stuff, family & fun, faith, and home & kitchen. (You can follow Jessica on Facebook here.)
- MomFuelEmpire.com is a blog that covers theology, mom life, and everything in between.
- TheMeasuredMom.com is a blog/shop/stop for literary resources.
- The Faithful Homeschool by Jennifer Whalen (a vender here!) offers homeschool help for LCMS families. You may know her for her LCMS Bible curriculum, Solus Christus.
- @thedouglasfam07 is the Instagram handle for the Douglas family, which talks about LCMS homeschooling, cooking, and more.
Podcasts
- Donuts & Devos is a blog & podcast with resources for parenting kids in the faith.
- Most Certainly Motherhood has been on hiatus, but maybe it’ll come back. Positive & charming.
There are also a few podcasts mentioned on our resource, “Hymn Recordings & Websites,” though those are pretty specific in content.
Miscellaneous
Don’t forget solid theological blogs & podcasts! I’m not sure I dare to try to compile a list for those, but I will mention a few other resources:
- A Collection of Prayers is great, run by a Lutheran pastor.
- The Daily Bite consists of a daily 10-20 minute Bible study based on a Scripture reading from here.
- The same person also offers a weekly podcast called “The Layman’s Guide to the Lectionary.”
- Into Your Hands is a website with a range of topics including homeschooling, religious liberty, worldview, etc.
- Luther for the Busy Man offers a daily dose of Luther.
- Freely Given is a podcast by two Lutheran women that emphasizes that the Gospel sustains us in our Christian lives.
PS. TheHolyMess.com is a weight loss blog by an LCMS woman and her friend. Just fyi.
