A Family Handbook of Prayer

Our newest release is A Family Handbook of Prayer, a multi-language collection of prayers and psalms for Lutheran family use.

This devotional collection was compiled by Rev. Paul C. Stratman under Vater Unser Books, and it is available absolutely free as a gift to the church!

A Family Handbook of Prayer

This family handbook serves as a devotional handbook and guide, incorporating several languages commonly learned in the Lutheran tradition.

Morning prayers are in English, German, and Latin.

Evening prayers are in English, German, and Latin.

The Lord’s Prayer is included in Galilean Aramaic (with pronunciation assistance), traditional English (with art and Thy), contemporary English, German, Latin, and Spanish.

A lovely selection of Table Prayers are available in English, Latin, German, and one in Hebrew.

Prayers for Very Young Children are available in English, German, and Latin, and the evening hymn “Now the Light has Gone Away” is included in English and German.

The following psalms are also included:

  • Psalm 1 in English, German, Latin, and Spanish, with an English prayer following it.
  • Psalm 19 in English and German with an English prayer.
  • Psalm 23 in English, German, Latin, and Spanish with an English prayer.
