Ladies and gentlemen, I’m happy to report that Lutheran educators are plugging away, as we speak, to create new homeschooling resources for LutheranHomeschool.com! Meanwhile, I will do my best to create and improve free resource pages. Today I’m happy to report the newly updated resource page for Lutheran Conferences, Camps, and Retreats.
Summer camps and programs are likely still fresh in your mind. Could you look over my list to see whether I’ve missed Lutheran opportunities that should be included?
I’m looking for Lutheran conferences, camps, and retreats of all sorts. Anything that could interest homeschooling families.
I’m pretty excited about what I’ve already found! But please share what you know with me so that these resource pages can be as helpful as possible.
This summer I was able to attend the CCLE conference, and it was a great educational conference! I am so thankful I was able to meet more Lutheran homeschoolers, and there was time to discuss all sorts of things with all sorts of other Lutheran educators! Yay!
Blessings as you begin, or continue, your homeschooling year.
Yours in Christ,
Mary Moerbe
Camp Trinity, the Lutheran Camp on Petit Jean Mountain in Arkansas (part of the Mid-South District LCMS), started its Outdoor Classroom in the fall of 2020 in response to the surge in homeschooling families. The camp scheduled 10 all-day sessions (canceling one because of COVID), with 29 students from 13 families participating. The camp has scheduled a 10-session spring semester (March-May) and is already taking registrations. More information is found on the camp website: lutherancamp.org.
Other camps that are members of NLOMA (National Lutheran Outdoors Ministry Association) have implemented other services for homeschooling families.
